What is subcision?
Many depressed acne scars are held down by fibrous bands under the skin. Subcision uses a fine needle or cannula to gently release these bands, so the scar can lift towards the surrounding skin.
The controlled healing that follows also triggers new collagen, which supports the area. It is often the missing step for rolling scars that do not respond to resurfacing alone.

Frequently asked questions
Does subcision hurt?
The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most clients feel pressure and some tugging rather than pain.
Which acne scars respond best?
Rolling and tethered scars respond best. Ice-pick scars usually need other treatments, which we can combine in your plan.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients need 1 to 3 sessions, depending on the number and depth of scars.
Can I combine it with RF microneedling?
Yes. Subcision releases scars from below, and RF microneedling refines texture on the surface. Together they often give the best result.
